Beer2Buds is excited to announce that we’ll be featuring beer bloggers on our blog. Each week on traditional Beer Friday we’ll announce the “Beer Blogger of the Week”. Beer bloggers blog both for their love of beer and to give us updates on our local communities and our favorite beer watering holes.
Please email us if you know of a beer blogger whom you know, love and recommend. The format will be who the blogger is and why they are so cool.
We’re excited about doing our part to spread the love of beer. Email suggestions to libby at (beer2buds) dot com.
Excited to announce we have sponsors for every Twitter #BeerFriday through the rest of the year. With the extra support, we can give away more beer!
Here’s the schedule for the remainder of the year:
November:
Every Friday in November we’ll be giving away beer from a company that likes November Friday’s as much as we do: none other then THE leading Black Friday website, BlackFriday.com. Besides giving away beer this month, they’re giving away tons of Black Friday-related prizes, from Xbox Kinects to iPads.
December:
We’re please to announce of the best sites for restaurant reviews, Menuism, will cover one of the most popular food months of the year. Beer pairs well with food and the kind folks at Menuism will be giving away beer each Friday in December. Their restaurant and bar reviews might even help you decide where to redeem your winning beer.
More Beer Support Welcome
If other companies or individuals want to partake in spreading the beer on #BeerFriday, certainly contact us. It’s just $5 per beer sponsored and we can give away more then one beer each Friday (including November & December).
We’d also like to thank Big Al’s Brewing for being our first-ever #BeerFriday supporter.
Keep an eye on the @beer2buds Twitter account each Friday for your chance to win beer!
As if you really need a reason to buy someone a beer. But, in case your mind is foggy, we thought we’d help you out:
- The obvious one – Birthday – check your calendar
- Belated Birthday (wait, did I forget a birthday recently?)
- You lost a bet. You just had to bet on the other team, didn’t you? Pay up.
- To give that cute guy/girl beer goggles… hey, just helping you out.
- Help your friend think he/she is a better dancer
- Be the ultimate wingman with 2 words: Liquid Confidence
- Friends don’t let friends have an empty glass
- Beer or laundry? Duh, laundry can wait
- Bachelor Party!
- For Christmas which would you prefer – Beer or a Snuggie?? Let’s be real.
- It’s a day of the week ending in ‘Y’
- Of course, you could always send a cheesy Hallmark Card, but we’re pretty sure beer is a better way to stay in touch.

For those of you who haven’t heard, Beer2Buds is having an official launch party this week in downtown Seattle. We’ve been testing it out for a little while as you already know and we’ve been getting a lot of interest from bars and from consumers, all over the globe. So, we’re making things official. Here we are! Launching officially in Seattle, Beer2Buds allows friends to send each other beer when they can’t be there to share.
3 Ways to Send Your Friend a Beer (or spend it yourself)
- 1. On our website
- 2. With our Facebook app (Buy A Round by Beer2Buds)
- 3. NEW: With our iPhone App: Beer2Buds … with … (secret feature, coming soon! Get a sneak peek at our party)
Did you know…?
… you don’t have to just use your Beer2Buds card for beer? We recommend it (because we love beer), but you can use it for whatever you want. The Beer2Buds card works like cash in most locations. Double check the locations listing page called “Drink Your Beer” to find out what the bar/restaurant is offering before you go there, as they may suggest a beer or a different menu item. They may even offer specials!
… you don’t have to send a friend a beer, you can actually add beer money to your own account and you can spend it however and wherever you’d like in our network. Let’s say you add $25. You can spend $10 one night at Bob’s Bar and $15 at Jill’s Pub. What a way to keep track of your beer money!
As always, let us know your feedback and what bars you recommend.
Beer Friday is a term that has been used loosely to describe the unique pleasure of cracking open a beer on Friday, often after work, or in some workplaces, consuming a beer at work on Friday afternoon. To help celebrate Beer Friday, we wanted to make it more official by sponsoring free beer giveaways on Twitter each Friday.
#BeerFriday Hash Tag is Born
On June 4th, 2010 we posted the following message on our @Beer2Buds Twitter account:
Forget #FF (follow friday), today we are launching #BeerFriday to encourage treating twitter friends w/ a beer. 1st round on us each Friday.
As you can imagine, Beer Friday’s on Twitter have been well received. Each week we run a different contest for the giveaway & we try to make it fun and interactive, unlike typical Twitter contests that require to use their canned messages. For example, on the 1st giveaway we had people nominate others on Twitter who deserved a beer after a tough week. We then sent free (REAL) beers to both the nominee and the nominator. On the 2nd week we tied #BeerFriday to the World Cup and on the 3rd week we had people nominate their Dads for Father’s day.
Future of Beer Friday
We want to see #BeerFriday continue to grow and hope that sponsors will join in so we can give away more then just a couple beers each week. Sponorship is cheap – only $5 per beer to be given away & is a great way to get in front of the soon-to-be thousands of beer lovers that follow us on Twitter, plus the many thousands of Twitter users who follow the beer lovers that participate on Beer Friday (if you’d like to sponsor a Beer Friday, contact Dustin at beer2buds.com).
Outside of our contribution to Beer Friday on Twitter, we’d love to see other’s celebrate it by buying & sending beer to their friends on Twitter (be sure to include #BeerFriday in your post). To keep up on Beer Friday promotions, be sure to follow us on Twitter (@Beer2Buds).

Beer2Buds announced launch of Facebook app ‘Buy-a-Round’ for American Craft Beer Week
In celebration of American Craft Brew Week, Beer2Buds announced the launch of a new Facebook app that allows Facebook users to buy a round of beers for their friends.
The app allows you to not only send a virtual beer, but REAL beer, and to multiple friends in different locations Beer2Buds already allows people to buy beer for their friends online through its website. Now Facebook users can buy real beers for their friends of legal drinking age. To buy a round of beer, simply add the Beer2Buds Buy-a-Round app and choose which friends will receive a drink on you. Friends will be able to redeem their free beer at participating bars & restaurants across the world.
Beer2Buds is a new start-up based in Seattle with a rapidly growing list of participating locations worldwide. Inspiration came from the desire to stay connected with friends over a cold one when you couldn’t be there to share.
Draft Magazine said “It’s getting easier to send your friend a beer. How could Beer2Buds, the site that enables the user to purchase a drink for anyone who’s over the legal age, get any easier? With a Facebook app. Duh.”
With Beer2Buds it’s never been easier to buy your friend a beer online.
Cheers!
